They should have stopped with the first one

The “Scary Movie” spoof series continues with its third installment, “Scary Movie 3.” The plot revolves around a TV news reporter who investigates some

mysterious crop circles on the farm of Tom Logan (Charlie Sheen). The reporter, Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), also becomes mixed up in a strange case

involving a video tape that kills people after they watch it. Campbell meets Logan’s brother, George (Simon Rex), who is an aspiring rapper. The movie also

features Queen Latifah as The Oracle, who tells Cindy that the president needs her help to prevent an alien invasion.
This time around, scary movies are not the only ones ridiculed. Sci-fi thrillers, comedies and fantasy epics are targeted as well. “Signs,” “The Ring,” “The

Matrix: Reloaded” and “8 Mile” are the main movies bashed in “Scary Movie 3.”
Although “Scary Movie 3” is part of a series, it is not important at all to have seen the first two movies. However, one may miss out on some of the jokes if

one has not seen “8 Mile” or the other main movies that are mocked.
“Scary Movie 3” is a mixed bag. Some parts are hilarious and will have the audience laughing out loud, while other jokes fall flat and are extremely stupid.

Many viewers have complained that the plot is predictable, a criticism that has some validity. The acting is average. There are cameos by the likes of Simon

Cowell, Fat Joe and Eddie Griffin to keep the audience entertained.
Overall, the movie is fairly enjoyable. It is obviously not up for any Academy Awards, but it manages to keep the audience entertained throughout most of the

movie. If one does not wish to spend the money to see this movie in the theaters, wait to see it on DVD.
