Pro-Bush
As the upcoming election approaches, many slanderous statements are being made about both Presidential candidates in an effort to shame them. This tactic is often used with hopes that the public may be swayed away from a candidate. But with so much of the “liberal media” set out to destroy President George W. Bush’s reputation, it’s often hard to sift between the truth and the lies.
Bush’s accomplishments
Many fail to realize the amazing things Bush has done for this country. Unemployment is down to 5.4% due to the 144,000 jobs his administration created. Bush has given $15 billion to fight against AIDS, something no other president can claim.
When the U.S. was under attack, Bush protected his people without hesitation and refused to support policies that put them in danger. He turned the economy around after the tragedies of September 11, while fighting two wars. His unending charisma and charm make him the perfect people’s president, and he is someone all men can relate to.
The war
In recent months, many left-wing enthusiasts have attempted to blame the President for an unneeded war against Iraq. The popular claim is that there were no weapons of mass destruction, thus attacking Iraq was pointless. Liberals also like to claim that Bush purposefully lied about the WMDs, and that the entire war was his fault. What many people fail to realize is that Bush is not the only person who supported this war. The majority of Congress, including a certain Senator from Massachusetts, also supported the Iraqi War. It may be true that Bush’s information about the WMDs had been inaccurate, but the fact that Russia, Germany, France and Canada all received the same intelligence changes things significantly. To say that Bush lied about the WMDs, one must conclude that these other countries lied also. Yet some critics still remain determined to place the blame on Bush. While the original purpose of America’s attack may have been a mistake, the fact remains that freeing a people from a tyrant will always be a just and honorable act.
The economy
Critics also enjoy ruthlessly attacking Bush for the current depleting state of our economy. Many of these people have apparently never read the Constitution, because they fail to realize that the President does not have powers relating to commerce. Such powers are given to Congress; the President can only sign the bills that Congress passes. And in case people have forgotten, America is a democracy. The government does not control the economy. When the economy goes down, there’s usually a reason for it besides “the President’s an idiot.” Despite all of this, blaming Bush for things that are out of his control seems to be the latest fashion.
George W. Bush’s presidency during the past four years has been a blessing upon this nation. Certain overweight filmmakers may enjoy portraying Bush as a curse, but the fact is that he loves this country, and has tried his hardest to do what is right in the name of justice. When Bush is re-elected, justice will continue.
